Geoff Prideaux

Geoff Prideaux has a professional background in audio engineering that in recent decades he has broadened to encompass sound propagation in deep sea and coastal regions.
He was the lead author and negotiator for the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) Family Guidelines on Environmental Impact Assessments for Marine Noise-generating Activities, lead author of the Technical Support Information to those guidelines, and sole author of the modules on Sound in Water and Marine Noise-generating Activities.
Geoff Prideaux has published academic work on managing ocean noise pollution. He is a member of the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM) and supports his wife, Margi Prideaux, as the formal Focal Point for the implementation of IUCN Resolution 113: Restoring a peaceful and quiet ocean.
Geoff Prideaux has supported OceanCare's ocean noise work since 2015.
