Emma Heiling
Climate Policy & Research Consultant
Emma Heiling has been working in the field of climate policy since 2020. She studied Land Economy (Environment, Law and Economics) at the University of Cambridge, where she actively and successfully advocated for initiatives such as expanding plant-based food options. She then founded the youth-led non-profit organisation ClimaTalk to make climate policy accessible to young people. Today, ClimaTalk consists of a team of over 100 young volunteers from more than 30 countries around the world. They have written 500+ short, accessible and scientifically referenced articles and have conducted award-winning coverage from international climate conferences.
She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po, Paris, focusing on diplomacy and deliberative democracy. What truly drives her is witnessing the wonder of wildlife – from dolphins and whales in the ocean to squirrels in the forest. These unforgettable encounters continue to inspire her work and deepen her resolve to protect the planet we all share.
Emma Heiling initially supported OceanCare’s campaign against offshore oil and gas exploration ahead of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference. Since August 2025, she has been working with OceanCare as a Climate Policy and Research Consultant, focusing on the crucial ocean-climate nexus.
